Dr Xiao Hong has been honored with numerous awards and held various prestigious positions over the years. He received the "Annual Outstanding Cultural Listed Company Leader Award" from the 2021 China Cultural Industry Investment Forum, the "Annual Outstanding Industry Figure Award" at ISTF 2020 International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, the "Outstanding Entrepreneur Golden Finger Award" from the China Game Industry Association in 2020 and 2018, the "Industry Leader Award" at the 2019 5th China New Economic Model Innovation and Development Summit, the "Leader Award" at the 2019 International Forum on Economic Innovation and Development, and the "Leader of the Listed Company Award" at the FEIA in 2018. He was also honored with the "Internet Annual Outstanding Figure Award" at the 9th Niu'er Entertainment Awards in 2018, the "Best Listed Company Leader Award" from Daily Finance in 2017, the "Blue Cloud Award" from the China Institute in New York in 2017, and the "Certificate of Congressional Recognition" from the United States Congress in 2014 for his role as the Honorary Chairman of the China-U.S. Mobile Game Entrepreneurs Alliance. Additionally, he has served as the Vice Chairman of the China Business Council for the B20 Summit, the Vice Chairman of the Education and Creative Industries Sub-Council of the China Education International Exchange Association, a Council Member of the China Business Council for APEC, a Director of the U.S.-China Relations National Committee, the Honorary Chairman of the China Mobile Game Entrepreneurs Alliance, and a member of the Esports Coordination Liaison Committee under the International Olympic Committee.

Dr Xiao Hong joined Perfect World Games Company (Nasdaq: PWRD) in May 2008, where he served as Senior Vice President, COO, and CEO. In 2016, he led Perfect World Games Company in delisting from Nasdaq and successfully restructuring assets with Perfect World Universal Entertainment Co., Ltd. Following this, Dr. Xiao Hong was appointed as the CEO of Perfect World Co., Ltd. (A-share code: 002624) and stepped down from his CEO position in August 2024 to continue serving Perfect World Group behind the scenes.

Under Dr Xiao Hong's leadership, Perfect World has become one of China's largest integrated entertainment and gaming conglomerates, as well as a model for promoting cross-cultural international exchanges in the cultural and creative sectors. The company has produced nearly 2,000 episodes of TV dramas, several box office hit films, and engaged in long-term film investment cooperation with Universal Pictures. Their TV dramas have consistently dominated prime time slots, while their film and TV works have received prestigious awards such as the Feitian Award, Magnolia Award, Huading Award, Huabiao Award, Hundred Flowers Award, and Golden Horse Awards. The gaming business has held the top spot for Chinese game exports for several years, with game products being exported to over 100 countries and regions and with branches established in more than 20 locations across Europe, Asia, and North America. Perfect World was one of the earliest companies to explore the esports industry in China, hosting several international esports tournaments featuring flagship products like Dota 2 and CSGO. The company facilitated the establishment of the world's highest prize pool top-tier esports event, Dota 2 Ti9, in Shanghai in August 2019. Dr. Xiao Hong was also invited to represent the Chinese esports industry in the International Olympic Committee's evaluation and coordination work for esports inclusion in the Olympics. Through international promotion in film, games, and esports, Perfect World actively promotes cultural exchanges between China and other countries, collaborating with numerous renowned domestic and international cultural and creative enterprises, government agencies, and non-profit organizations.

Before joining Perfect World, Dr. Xiao Hong held senior management positions in the Asia-Pacific and China regions at Fortune 500 companies such as Motorola, Cisco, Philips, and Dell.

Dr Xiao Hong holds a Bachelor of Science from Tsinghua University and Master's and Ph.D. degrees in Engineering from the University of Southern California.
