Dr Minggao Shen currently serves as the Global Chief Economist and Dean of the Industrial Research Institute at GF Securities.
From 2015 to 2017, Dr. Shen served as the Chief Economist at Caixin Insight and Chairman of Moneta Research. From 2009 to 2015, he was the Managing Director, Head of China Research, and Chief Economist of the Greater China region at Citigroup Global Markets Asia Limited. In 2008-2009, he held the position of Chief Economist at Caijing Magazine. From 2005 to 2008, he was the Chief Economist and Director of Economic and Market Research at Citibank (China) Co., Ltd. From 2002 to 2005, he was an Associate Professor at the China Center for Economic Research at Peking University. Between 1988 and 1994, he conducted policy research at the State Council Rural Development Research Center and the State Council Development Research Center.
Dr Shen graduated from Stanford University in the United States with a Ph.D. in Economics in 2001.
