Mr. Allen Zhao is a part-time lecturer at HKU ICB with over 30 years of extensive work experience in global commodities, financial markets, and wealth management fields. Allen currently serves as the Alternate Chief Executive of ING Bank Hong Kong, responsible for its Financial Markets Department and China sales including Hong Kong and Macau. Allen is familiar with the Hong Kong Listing Ordinance and the Securities and Futures Ordinance and is a licensed person under Type 1 and Type 4 regulations by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission.

Previously, from 2010 to 2016, Allen worked at Goldman Sachs Hong Kong and Singapore, responsible for the structuring and innovation of financial products. From 2005 to 2010, Allen worked at Deutsche Bank New York and Hong Kong, responsible for the structuring and marketing of equity products. From 1994 to 2005, Allen worked at Citibank Salomon Smith Barney New York and Louis Dreyfus Group's US headquarters, engaged in the structuring and marketing of equity products and global trading of grain and cotton commodities. 

Allen holds a Master of Science degree in Mathematics from the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at New York University, a Master of Business Administration degree from the Stern School of Business at New York University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Reed College. Allen is a CFA charter holder.
